Nonprofits Try A Different Approach To Black Friday

Black Friday has been dominated by a lot of the big box stores with sales you can only get if you stand in line outside for hours.

Now some nonprofits are trying their own approach. The Phoenix Art Museum, for one, is opening early on Black Friday at 8 a.m. and offering free annual memberships to the first 55 non-members who show up.

Patricia Lewis of ASU’s Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation says it’s a good idea for nonprofits to piggyback on the Black Friday concept.
