Coconino National Forest Sells Out Of Christmas Tree Permits

If you’re looking to harvest your own Christmas tree this holiday season, your options are quickly dwindling. Coconino National Forest sold its last permit at noon on Tuesday.

When they went on sale Nov. 21, there were 600 Christmas tree cutting permits available at the Coconino National Forest.

Amelia Galuski is a customer service representative with the agency. She said in a typical year they don’t sell out until mid-December.

"It is sooner than usual," Galuski explained. "We do usually sell out, but this is a little earlier than normal."

She speculates that good weather could be drawing more people out this year.

Galuski said the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest still has some permits left, but those are also going quickly.
