The Arizona Game and Fish Department will be conducting wildlife roadblocks this weekend.
The move was timed with the opening weekend of antlerless elk-hunting season.
It’s targeting hunters in the Kaibab National Forest. Officials there will be looking for evidence of legality including proper tags and license verification.
Results of this roadblock will provide the department with data on overall compliance with state laws.
