The recount in Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District race between Ron Barber and Martha McSally continues this week.
The recount is moving along, after several attempts at legal intervention threatened to delay the process.
Pima County Elections Department started recounting its ballots last week. A spokesperson for the department said all votes cast in polling places have been counted. Now they will turn to the greatest number of votes to be processed-early ballots.
So far, on Monday, close to 84,000 ballots had been counted out of the approximately 250,000 to be included in the recount in Pima County.
The recount in Cochise County gets underway this week.
The Secretary of State oversees the process carried out by county officials. The Secretary of State is required to report recount results no later than 5 p.m. on December 16th.
