Name Of Officer Who Shot Rumain Brisbon Released

The Phoenix Police Department released the name of the officer who shot and killed Rumain Brisbon last week during a struggle.

Phoenix Police Officer Mark Rine shot 34-year-old Brisbon last Tuesday after the officer attempted to detain Brisbon. Police said Rine was investigating reports of a drug deal.

Investigators say Rine thought Brisbon was reaching for a gun and shot him twice in the torso. This was confirmed by an autopsy report.

Rine has been with the Phoenix Police Department for seven years. He has been reassigned to a non-enforcement duty during the investigation.
