Some of the Republicans in Arizona’s congressional delegation say they can’t wait to begin the new legislative year with their party in control of both the House and the Senate.
Republican Rep. David Schweikert says the GOP plan is to make the president put his opinions on the record.
“Be fascinating to start seeing what the president really does veto and what he really signs, because he has functionally had a life for six years where we have no real idea where the president stands,” Schweikert said.
Schweikert says Senate Democratic leader Sen. Harry Reid has protected the president from having to take positions on many of the measures passed by Republicans in the U.S. House.
