The two-day Rock-n-Roll Arizona marathon kicks off with clinics and events on Friday. The 5K race is on Saturday in Tempe. The tri-city marathon is on Sunday. This means a lot of road closures, from Phoenix to Tempe.
The Sunday marathon starts in downtown Phoenix, winds through Scottsdale and finishes at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. The P.F. Chang's Rock-n-Roll Marathon starts at 7:30 a.m.
Some streets in downtown Phoenix will be closed starting at 3 a.m. and streets along the route will be closed at 6 a.m.
Closures in downtown Tempe will start Friday evening. There are many street restrictions along the marathon route. Drivers are encouraged to visit cities of Phoenix and Tempe websites to get details. There’s also information on bus route detours.
Traffic routes should be back to normal for Monday morning’s rush hour.
