In last night’s State of the Union speech, President Obama presented several ambitious ideas designed to help middle- and working-class families. These ideas included free tuition at community and technical colleges and paid sick leave.
Arizona Democratic Congressman Ruben Gallego said he hopes the state’s Republican policymakers give those ideas serious consideration.
"I’m cautiously optimistic," Gallego said. "You want things to go well. I feel that this is a very bold and strong plan and I hope my republican colleagues would recognize it as a great opportunity."
Gallego said several of the President’s proposals, including expanding the child-care tax credit, would benefit many Arizonans.
