University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson.

The University of Arizona Medical Center is set to get a new name. The state Board of Regents is expected to OK a merger agreement between Banner Health and the University of Arizona Health Network next week.

When that happens, the University of Arizona Medical Center will become Banner - University Medical Center Tucson. The hospital is southern Arizona’s only Level 1 trauma center.

Two other hospitals will fall under Banner’s new University Medicine Division. They include another Tucson-based hospital and Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix. Both facilities will be renamed.
