We head now to another of the Valley’s threatened places.
Woody Wilson showed me around Eisendrath House in Papago Park in Tempe. He and Kim Knotter met me there. Wilson is on the board of the Rio Salado Foundation and Knotter is its executive director.
To be fair, this house is perhaps less of a threatened place and more of a formerly threatened place, which is undergoing a multi-million-dollar rehabilitation, starting almost a decade ago.
It was originally the winter home of Rose Eisendrath, who lived part of the year in Phoenix in the 1930s.
When it’s finished, it will be a water conservation center, hold some city offices and host small special events.
