ASU Basketball Fans Get Creative With 'Curtain Of Distraction'

College basketball games are places to see brilliant creativity by young people, but we’re not talking about what’s happening on the court.

It’s in the stands where special signs, messages and enormous cardboard faces are waved in front of the faces of opposing free-throw shooters.

This season at ASU’s men’s basketball games, it’s been taken to a whole different level with the Curtain of Distraction.

We talked with Anji Kumar, an ASU junior and member of the 942 Crew, the group behind the curtain.

And we spoke to Daniel Engber, a contributing editor to Popular Science magazine, about the real impact of crowds on free-throw shooting.
