East Coast Storm Impacts Some Travelers At Sky Harbor

Air travelers in Phoenix could face some delays at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport over the next few days as a major winter storm brings blizzard conditions to the east coast.

Heather Lissner, a spokeswoman for the airport, said it’s too early to tell exactly how weather delays will impact air traffic in Phoenix, but added several flights to cities in the Northeast have already been cancelled.

"Three to Boston on US Air, three to JFK on US Air, as well as a Philadelphia cancellation," Lissner said. "And United has cancelled flights to Newark today and tomorrow."

Nationwide, airlines have cancelled more than 6,000 flights through Wednesday. Lissner recommends local travelers double check their flight status before heading to the airport.
