Google Fiber Still May Consider Coming To Phoenix

Google Fiber announced four metro areas it’s expanding to and Phoenix is not on that list, but it isn’t out of the running.

Google announced today that the fiber network is coming to 18 cities near Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville and Raleigh-Durham.

The company said it’s still considering coming to Phoenix along with Portland, Salt Lake City, San Antonio and San Jose, but won’t make any decisions until later this year.

Tempe said it wants to stay in consideration for future projects because it believes its tech sector and students would benefit from the service.
