As many as 1,000 Arizonans in three counties, Maricopa, Pinal and Gila, may have been exposed to measles. It’s a highly contagious disease often manifesting itself as a rash.
The virus, transmitted in droplets from a sneeze or cough, can live for as long as two hours on those surfaces on which they land.
