Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and been placed on probation. He changed his plea at the last minute.
Dwyer is accused of allegedly assaulting his wife during arguments at their apartment last year.
A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman said he pleaded guilty Thursday to disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation plus community service.
Remaining charges against the 27-year-old Dwyer, including felony aggravated assault and criminal damage, were dismissed.
Dwyer had pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday.
Investigators said Dwyer broke his wife's nose during an argument last summer and punched her the following day.
