Supporters of one of Phoenix’s most well-known neighborhoods held a mock funeral last night. They’ve been protesting plans to tear down some buildings and replace them with housing. PR Consultant Stacey Champion is one of those who’s upset with the plans.
For their part, city leaders say they’re trying to work with all stakeholders to find a happy medium. Rick Naimark is Phoenix’s Deputy City Manager. He said Roosevelt Row has the zoning and height that allows for density, which is generally something people try to create in downtown cores.
