A Phoenix man has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges in connection to two cold case killings from the early 1990s.
The cases, from 1992 and 1993 both involved young women riding bicycles near the canal system in Phoenix.
Bryan Patrick Miller was arrested Jan. 13 in the killing of 22-year-old Angela Brosso in 1992 and 17-year-old Melanie Bernas in 1993.
Brosso’s body was found near an apartment complex around 35th Avenue and Cactus Street, while the body of Bernas, who was a high school student at the time, was discovered about a mile and a half away, floating in the Arizona canal.
The 42-year-old Miller, who was linked to the cases by DNA evidence, was arraigned Monday in Superior Court.
He’s charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and kidnapping and one each of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault.
