Legislation Will Push For Schools To List Vaccination Rates

Arizona parents would have more information about the percentage of immunization at their kids’ schools under legislation being proposed in the state House of Representatives.

State Rep. Juan Mendez’ bill would require schools to list vaccination rates on their websites.

“I would like to ask schools, charter schools, anybody with a website that they post on their website whether or not they employ a nurse and if they don’t employ a nurse who is doing the nurses duties and what qualifications do they have,” Mendez said.

Mendez said the bill does not require the immunization of school kids but he says if the public actually knew the danger their children were in from the lack of immunizations in their school, there would likely be more people calling for vaccinations to be required.
