The Mesa Police Department has appointed an interim police chief. John Meza will be replacing outgoing chief Frank Milstead.
Milstead resigned after being appointed as the new Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Meza has been with the department more than 28 years and has been serving as assistant chief for the past seven years.
The city hasn’t yet started a search for a new police chief.
