Organization Helps Arizona Businesses Buy From Other Local Companies

The group Local First Arizona wants to help businesses in the state buy more products and services from other Arizona companies. The Source AZ program includes a free audit to look at where a business’s biggest expenditures are. The group then uses its database to try to find similar products sold by Arizona companies.

Local First Arizona’s Founder and Director Kimber Lanning said her group did a study with Copper Point Mutual Insurance several years ago and found it could save a lot of money by buying its products closer to home. She said the firm now sources 84 percent of its goods and services locally. A Scottsdale-based company then measured the impact of that change.
