Arizona Ranks Third In Solar Jobs, But Other States Surging

A new study for The Solar Foundation documents the number of solar jobs in each of the 50 states. Arizona has the third-largest number of solar jobs in the country.

The only issue is the state’s No. 3 slot is down from No. 2 a year ago. This year, Massachusetts surged ahead of the Grand Canyon state to occupy the spot below solar jobs leader California.

Arizona still has more than 9,000 solar jobs, according to the group, with a 7 percent rate of job growth over a year ago.

Solar Foundation President Andrea Luecke says last year’s growth in Arizona was a reversal of the previous year, when solar jobs in the state declined.

Nevada is also a leader in solar jobs, checking in with the highest number of industry jobs per capita and the highest percentage of solar job growth.
