Glendale’s city manager announced her intention to resign during Thursday's city council meeting. Brenda Fischer has been in the position for nearly a year and a half and has worked in city government for two decades.
Fischer started as city manager when Glendale was dealing with an external audit and a cash strapped budget. She’s been involved in turning the city’s finances around and, just last month, Glendale’s financial rating was upgraded from negative to stable by Standard & Poor’s.
Mayor Jerry Weiers said Fischer has communicated to the mayor and council that she has accomplished all of her goals at the city.
