Douglas Opponents Use Gaffe To Their Advantage

Opponents of embattled state school Superintendent Diane Douglas started making plans for a recall as soon as she was elected. However, they needed to wait until she has been in office six months.

Opponent Max Goshert said Douglas' feud with Gov. Doug Ducey, after she tried to fire two board of education staff members, tells them recall efforts might be successful.

“We’ve seen a lot of support from people who realize now that’s she been in office and really hasn’t done anything to help. And has only served to harm the institute of education in Arizona ,” Goshert said.

He said they will probably need over 400,000 signatures to force Douglas to resign or face a recall election.
