In his proposed budget for the next fiscal year, Governor Doug Ducey is looking to cut $75 million from the state’s three public universities.
The University of Arizona would lose $21 million of its funding if the Ducey budget becomes a reality. Some are concerned that state lawmakers will push for deeper cuts.
When Arizona was in the midst of the great recession, the three universities saw their collective funding decrease by a few hundred million dollars.
