But a new UCLA study has concluded that heat waves are becoming more prominent in urban areas. The paper, which is called “Changes in Observed Climate Extremes in Global Urban Areas," was co-written by UCLA Geography Professor Dennis Lettenmaier. We spoke to him about the study, which looked at 217 cities.
