Phoenix City Council Gets Update On Flight Path Mitigation

Airport staff will update the Phoenix City Council Tuesday night on its efforts to address the overhead air traffic noise affecting residents near downtown.

In September, the Federal Aviation Administration modified flight paths over Phoenix as part of a nationwide program to increase fuel efficiency.

Airport staff have held multiple community meetings and conducted noise monitoring. They are also working to discuss solutions with the FAA as part of an ongoing effort to mitigate the problem.
