The Governing Board of the Maricopa County Community College District will be considering a set of course fee changes tonight.
Included in the proposal are 134 new fees, 73 increased and 84 reduced or eliminated fees.
"In some cases, a new course has been added that requires that a fee be paid," said Tom Gariepy, a spokesman for the district. "In other cases, students who are already paying fees for a given course find that the cost of the materials and the equipment has gone up."
Gariepy said that, if approved, the move would result in a net impact of almost $436,000 to the district’s budget.
