Flagstaff Had The Warmest February On Record

They may be digging out from an early March snowstorm now, but Flagstaff residents were basking in the warmest temperatures the city has ever had last month.

The February temperatures were so warm daffodils and crocuses were in bloom by Valentine’s Day.

Now, the National Weather Service says the average February temperature in Flagstaff was 39.7 degrees or more than 7.5 degrees above the 30-year average.

That makes it the warmest February since they began keeping records in 1898.

The warm February temperatures came in the wake of what was the third-warmest year on the books for Flagstaff in 2014.

And Flagstaff was not alone in setting a record. The Arizona Daily Sun says Prescott and Winslow also recorded their warmest Februaries ever, while Phoenix had its second-warmest.
