For decades, Woodsy the Owl has been encouraging us to give a hoot and not pollute. But officials seem to be still working on the message.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department, along with several other agencies, has launched the "Respected Access is Open Access in Arizona" campaign, which promotes outdoor ethics. Game and Fish Spokesman Tom Cadden said many outdoor areas have multiple uses, including off-highway vehicles and recreational shooting.
Cadden said Arizona has a lot of public land, with the federal government managing much of it. And he said that land won’t be automatically open forever.
