After spending all of Friday night into Saturday morning at the state Capitol, lawmakers approved a budget for the fiscal year beginning on July 1.
Cuts to higher education received the most criticism, though there were concerns about whether enough money was being put toward K-12 education as well.
Some longtime Capitol watchers were simply surprised that a budget this contentious was pushed through in March, with less time devoted to hammering it out.
