Milwaukee Brewers Ban High-Fives Over Pink-Eye Outbreak

In addition to the normal aches and pains of spring training, the Milwaukee Brewers are dealing with a pink-eye outbreak.

For at least the next few Cactus League games, the Brewers are banning high-fives to avoid the spread of the disease.

Catcher Jonathan Lucroy and pitching coach Rick Kranitz are the latest to come down with the highly-contagious infection and have been told to stay home for at least 48 hours.

Manager Ron Roenicke hopes that will stop its spread of the disease but said it has seemed like a couple more cases show up every day for the last several.

Symptoms of pink eye include redness in one or both eyes, itchiness, tearing and a gritty feeling in one or both eyes.  It can be active for as long as two weeks after the signs and symptoms begin.
