Ford Motor Company held the first national drive event for the 2015 Ford Edge this week in Scottsdale. And car companies spend a lot of time in Arizona, especially during the testing phase of development.

But it’s not just Ford that brings its vehicles to Arizona for testing. Jim Prueter is a Phoenix-based automotive journalist and says car companies have been coming here since around the 1950s.
