Why The City of Phoenix Hasn't Increased Water Rates Since 2012

Phoenix residents will not pay more for water this year, after the city council adopted the Water Services Department’s recommendation to not increase water rates.

The city hasn’t increased its water rates since 2012. Kathryn Sorensen directs the Water Services Department and said the department aims to charge enough to cover its operating costs and those of investments and have some cash in reserve.
