Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leader, Pete Rose, has officially submitted a request to the game’s new commissioner to be reinstated.
Rob Manfred, in the Valley for a spring training meeting with the Los Angeles Dodgers, says he’ll be in communication with Rose’s advisors.
Rose was given a lifetime ban from baseball in 1989 after an investigator concluded that he had gambled on Cincinnati Reds games. Rose was managing the Reds at the time.
