New Bill Would Give Voters The Chance To Get Rid Of Clean Elections

Clean Elections was approved by voters in 1998 and utilized by a large number of candidates. That participation has dwindled quite a bit since the United States Supreme Court got rid of Clean Elections’ matching funds provision.

Now, during the current legislative session, a bill sponsored by senator Steve Pierce of Prescott would give voters the chance to get rid of Clean Elections.

We talked with senator Pierce and Tom Collins, executive director of the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission.
