A Glendale police officer fatally shot a man who authorities said threatened a woman with a gun during a confrontation a drive-thru ATM.
Authorities said the woman — a fellow bank customer — got man’s license plate number and called 911.
An officer went to Joseph Tassinari's residence, where police say the 63-year-old ignored commands after stating he was armed. Police said the officer used a stun gun on Tassinari, but he kept refusing to listen to orders.
When Tassinari reached for his waistband, the officer opened fire. Tassinari died at the scene and authorities said a gun was found on him.
The identity of the officer was not released immediately. Under department policy, he was placed on administrative leave.
