DEA: $4.5M Indianapolis Drug Bust Has Arizona Ties

Thanks to a tip from the Phoenix office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, a multimillion dollar drug cartel originating in Tempe has been dismantled in Indianapolis .

The investigation took place during the last year, according to Tim Horty with the United States Attorney’s Office for Indiana’s Southern District.

“The drugs were primarily shipped from Mexico to the Tempe area. And then, it was brought by van from the Phoenix area to Indianapolis for redistribution,” Horty said.

Horty said during “Operation Family Ties” they've confiscated more than 77 kilograms of drugs and $4.5 million.
