Before Arizona Diamondbacks fans can enter Chase Field this year, they will need to pass through the newest safety feature implemented by Major League Baseball.
All 30 MLB teams must implement the use of metal detectors by opening day 2015.
Many stadiums across the country have already been using metal detectors, including regional rivals the San Francisco Giants, which started experimenting with screening upgrades in 2013.
All stadiums across the country must install and utilize the security measure by using either hand-held or walk-through detectors.
Chase Field will make an official announcement on the new metal detectors Friday.
