Crews widen sections of US 93 north of Wikieup.

Starting Tuesday, drivers travelling from Phoenix to Las Vegas on US 93 may experience delays as Arizona Department of Transportation crews continue widening sections of the road north of Wikieup.

ADOT spokesman Dustin Krugel said crews will be installing bridge girders starting at 7 a.m.

“What they’ll need to do when they’re installing these girders which are going to be carried with some very large cranes, they’re going to stop traffic and move one girder at a time," Krungel said.

Krugel says ADOT is not expecting any lengthy delays; however, traffic may occasionally be stopped for up to 15 minutes.

ADOT will complete this section of the $20 million project on Thursday.
