Navajo Pride Flour Recalled In Arizona, 3 Other States

A Navajo company has issued a voluntary recall of flour that may be tainted with salmonella. The recall affects customers in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.

Bleached, all-purpose flour under the label Navajo Pride with an expiration date of March 16 should not be used. That’s the official word from Navajo Agricultural Products Industry, a company near Farmington, New Mexico.

The Daily Times in Farmington reports the company initially put out a recall of more than 42,000 pounds of flour. It comes in cloths bags, ranging from five to 50 pounds each.

Company officials say customers can either throw the product away or return it for a refund.
