Those planning a trip to Bartlett Lake are being asked to pay attention to the water levels. Tonto National Forest spokeswoman Carrie Templin said Salt River Project will be releasing water from Horseshoe Lake into the Verde River , changing lake’s water level.
“It’s part of their continuing management of water for the city and our needs," Templin said. "As they have water come into Horseshoe and they need to adjust the levels, they do water releases.”
Templin said water levels in Bartlett Lake could come up a foot or more. She’s asking campers to stay 20 to 30 feet above the shoreline for about the next two weeks.
