One of the several scoreboards at Mesa's Sloane Park, spring training home of the Chicago Cubs.

The regular baseball season is officially under way and the attendance numbers for the just-completed spring training season are in. This was the best Cactus League season ever.

Nearly 1.9 million fans attended Cactus League games this season. That tops the 2013 record of 1.7 million. And that year, the season was four days longer.

Many parks set records for attendance. The Chicago Cubs set the single season attendance record again, with 222,000-plus Cub fans showing up for spring training games.

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies teamed up to draw more fans than any other two-team facility, attracting 351,000 to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

The two teams have together drawn more than 300,000 fans in each of the ballpark’s first five seasons.
