A new report shows an increase in the amount of roadside trash picked up along Valley highways.
According to the Maricopa Association of Governments, the Arizona Department of Transportation collected about 7,000 more bags full of litter in 2014 than in 2013. That follows a similar increase from the year before.
In the long term, though, the ADOT is still showing a decrease, dropping by more than 70,000 bags of litter collected from a recent spike in 2007.
