Just a few months after its last renovation project, the Arizona House is planning another one.
A spokeswoman said the work will include installation of showers, a new multipurpose room, office overhauls and replacement of the carpet installed in the House chamber just before this year’s regular session.
Stephanie Grisham told the Capitol Times the costs of the project are not known because plans have not yet been finalized. She said the showers are needed because some representatives put in long days, then go to regular jobs once their part-time legislative work is done.
Grisham said the carpeting the House put in its chamber at a cost of $53,000 was inappropriate and defective but that the House will not be paying for it twice.
