Borderlands Food Bank Cuts Down On Waste By Rescuing Produce

Lots of produce crosses into Arizona from Mexico. And a food bank in Nogales is working to get those fruits and veggies onto plates, rather than having it go into landfills.

Borderlands Food Bank has been “rescuing” that produce for two decades. Sellers call and the food bank’s drivers can pick the produce up. Workers then figure out what’s good and what isn’t. Yolanda Soto is Borderland Food Bank’s President and CEO.
