The 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal over the weekend was strong enough to trigger an avalanche on the slopes of Mount Everest.
The avalanche buried part of the mountain’s base camp, stranding foreign climbers including a woman from Scottsdale.
Haley Ercanbrack is among about a dozen others climbing with the group Madison Mountaineering.
According to the group’s website, the team was stranded at camp two on Saturday but arrived safely at base camp early this morning.
