Nathan Gonzales Talks About Supreme Court Case Over Arizona Congressional Districts

We’re still a ways away from being bombarded with ads and robocalls for congressional candidates, but it’s not unusual to see them jumping into the race this far out from Election Day.

This year, however, is a bit different in Arizona, and that’s due in large part to a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Earlier this year, the justices heard arguments over whether the state’s Independent Redistricting Commission is allowed to draw congressional districts or if that job belongs to the Legislature. A decision is expected in a couple of months.

For more on the impact of that ruling, and the waiting until we hear it, is Nathan Gonzales, editor of the Washington D.C.-based Rothenberg and Gonzales Political Report.
