One of the surest signs of an abandoned house is boarded up windows. But Phoenix has started taking a different approach.

The city is ditching plywood for something more transparent. Phoenix has started using plastic instead of plywood on the windows of abandoned houses.

We talked with Phoenix Code Compliance Manager Patrick Ravenstein about the change.
