ASU plans to start offering credit for students taking Massive Open Online Courses. These are large classes offered online that pretty much anyone anywhere can take with no limit on class size.
ASU is partnering with the MOOC providing company called edX.
Stuart Butler is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and has written about the new arrangement, called the Global Freshman Academy.
