Living in the desert in the midst of an extended drought can lead people to change their decision-making process. For a lot of people who live in the Valley, that has meant turning to desert landscaping around their homes and using xeriscape techniques to conserve water.

We talked about xeriscape and what to do if you really want a green lawn with Kirti Mathura, a Valley-based horticulturist; Amber Lefstead, WaterSense outdoor coordinator for the Environmental Protection Agency; and Ryan Trudell, Director of Landscape Architecture for LVA Urban Design Studio in Tempe.
